During the national event “Open cardiologies”, the Cardiology Department of Vittoria’s Guzzardi Hospital held a seminar at our school on the importance of prevention and cardiovascular risks in order to avoid strokes and heart attacks.

Eating healthily  and improving our own life style should be something to do since early age. Mr Bellassai Luigi, the event coordinator, said that the aim of our school is to form aware citizens who acquire the right competences important for their future. The scientific activities carried out on the physiology of the heart, the cardiovascular system and the right nutrition allow students to have a better knowledge of their own body.

Ms Lauretta Mariagiovanna, headmaster of our school, during her welcoming speech, explained that cardiovascular diseases are still the main causes of death in industrialized countries. Avoiding bad habits and adopting healthy lifestyles should be started since childhood in order to become healthy adults.
